Giovanni Adjei, 2024 (Current) National Spelling Bee Champion!
Giovanni Adjei, a 10-year-old student from Christ The King International School, emerged victorious at The National Spelling Bee 2024 Finals by accurately spelling “guijo”, a notable Philippine timber tree known for its robust and heavy hardwood, characterized by a distinctive figure and moderately fine texture. This marks Giovanni’s second appearance in the Bee.
Aside from his academic pursuits, Giovanni indulges in playing the keyboard and soccer, all while nurturing his passion for reading. With a personal goal of consuming over 200 words daily, he also clinched the top spot in his group during the recent UCMAS competition. Fascinated by the pre-colonial history of Sierra Leone, Giovanni aspires to visit the country someday.
