17 – Audrey Kwekie Teye

BIO:

Everyone knows that I have an incredible musical talent and can sing popular songs from Ghana, Nigeria, Korea or America but did you know that I’m also very handy? Yes, I love arts and crafts and can make attractive artefacts with plastics, cotton, paint and cardboard. My hero is past Scripps National Spelling Bee Champion, Dr. Bailey, who is now a renowned pronouncer of the competition. And if I had to choose a superpower, I’d choose to be a linguistic genius that has the power to understand and speak different languages from across the world. This would also be a very handy superpower for the Bee as I master the roots of the various words. Guess what word I’d submit to Merriam-Webster if given the chance?  “Cryptophobia” – it sounds creepy but if it was a Bee word, I’m sure it’ll be an easy one to spell 😉
