  • About The Spelling Bee

    The Spelling Bee (TSB) is a literacy programme that teaches primary children between ages 7 and 13, how to improve their spelling, increase their vocabulary, learn and understand word concepts and develop English usage which will help them all their lives. 75% of TSB is conducted online and an edition is crowned each year in February with the National Finals, in-person.

    • Public speaking

    • Vocabulary building

  • What are the timelines?

    • Preliminaries (blended – virtual & in-person) – February 2024 to April 2024

    • Quarter-Finals (blended – virtual & in-person) – May 2024 to June 2024 

    • Semi-Finals (blended – virtual & in-person) – July 2024 to September 2024

    • National Finals (blended – virtual & in-person) – October 2024 to February 2025

    Your Speller can join at either Preliminaries or Quarter-Finals.

  • How Long Is It For?

    An edition of The Spelling Bee pans across 9 months and is in 4 graduating stages. Spellers who meet the performance requirements move from one stage to the other.

  • Who Can Sign Up?

    Schools and Parents can enrol their Spellers who are between 7-13-year-old or between grade 3 and 7.

  • How Much Does It Cost?

    Stage 1:

    • Preliminary Level: 5 weeks (Virtual & in-person sessions)

    Timeline: February – April 2024

    • Early bird registration: Ghc 499 

    • Regular registration: Ghc 600 

    Stage 2:

    • Quarter- finals Level:  7 weeks (Virtual & in-person sessions)

    Timeline: April to June 2024

    • Early bird registration: Ghc 699

    • Regular registration: Ghc 899

    Stage 3

    Semi-finals level: 9 weeks (virtual & in-person sessions)

    Timeline: July to September 2024

    • Registration: Ghc 2,375

    Stage 4

    National Finals level: 11 weeks (virtual & in-person sessions) 

    Timeline: October 2024 to January 2025

    • Registration fees: Ghc 4,100
